About

Simply put, I am a pharmacy student, who has a passion for cooking, baking, and everything Italian. During my 2011 summer vacation I was fortunate enough to get to go to Italy for my 6th time to visit family. This trip was unlike any of my previous visits though. I was headed to Italy to go stay with my great-aunt at her restaurant and learn how to cook! Don't get me wrong, I knew how to cook before going to Italy and had fond memories of making homemade ravioli with my Nonna for family holidays, but my great-aunt's restaurant was not your ordinary restaurant. One of the things that is so special about my aunt's restaurant is that she grows her own produce, raises her own animals, and even makes her own cured meats and wine. I was so excited to get the opportunity to learn from her how to make some of the old authentic Italian recipes!

After sharing my excitement about my upcoming trip with family and friends, they encouraged me to start a blog so I could share my experience with them and for them to follow me on my journey. That is when La Mia Dolce Vita in Italia came to be. During my time in Italy, I posted recipes and photos of different dishes I made along with photos from the places that I visited along the way.

Now that I am back home attending pharmacy school, I continue to add recipes to my blog whenever I get a chance to in between my busy school schedule. I enjoy cooking and baking and I am excited to be able to share my passion with others. I hope you enjoy my blog and try some of the recipes that I share with you.

Buon Appetito!
