Chocolate Red Wine Cake
The first time I made this cake it was definitely love at first bite! Two of my favorite things are wine and chocolate, and when mixed together in this cake they are absolutely amazing! If you haven't decided what to get your valentine this Valentine's Day, I'm sure they would love to indulge in a piece of this delicious cake!
Ingredients:
6 tbsp unsalted butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg and 1 egg yolk
3/4 cup red wine
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup and 1 tbsp flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/8 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Preheat oven to 325. Grease 9 inch round cake pan. In a large bowl, cream butter until smooth. Add the sugars and beat until fluffy. Add the eggs and beat well, then add the wine and vanilla and mix. Finally, mix in the flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 min. Cool on a rack for 10 min and then flip out of pan and continue to cool. Can be served dusted with powdered sugar.
